FAQ Noosa School Camp

1. Does Total Adventures have insurance?

Total Adventures has $10,000,000 public liability insurance coverage,

a Certificate of Currency is available upon request

2. Are Total Adventures facilitators qualified?

All Total Adventures facilitators are fully qualified in the activities they facilitate

All Total Adventures facilitators hold Blue Cards and First Aid certificates

3. Do you cater for dietary requirements?

All dietary requirements are catered for by Total Adventures team of qualified Chefs.

Upon request, Total Adventures Head Chef is happy to discuss dietary requirements with teachers or parents.

4. If there is an after hours emergency, how do we get across the ferry?

The Noosa North Shore Ferries operate from 5.30am to 10.30pm Mon – Fri.

The ferry operates outside of these hours for emergencies. See Emergency Contact List for after hours phone numbers.

5. Is there any public encroachment at Noosa School Camp Venues?

The venue is closed to the public from Sunday night through to Friday lunch time. All Total Adventures and Venue Staff hold Blue Cards. If any maintenance personnel are required to carry out work on the property during the school week they will have a red visitors pass.

6. Is there anyone onsite after hours?

There are 4 homes on site with permanent residents, including the Retreat General Manager who is on 24 hour call. Total Adventures staff are also frequently based at the venue for the duration of the camp and on 24 hour call.

7. What are the students requirements while on camp?

Students are required to keep their accommodation neat and tidy and report any damages to the Total Adventures Coordinator. Students are required to assist the chefs in the serving of meals and keep the dinning hall swept and tables wiped. Students are not required to wash dishes or cutlery. Students are required to comply with the camp rules.

8. Where are Teachers accommodated?

There are 2 teachers rooms in the Vinyl Village, each room consists of 2 single beds which are made up with linen. Teachers have access to tea & coffee facilities and fridge in the common areas. Additional teachers can be accommodated in our Park Cabins, which range from 3 – 5 berth. If the school is staying in the Retreat Areas; Teachers are accommodated in Resort Style accommodation and linen is supplied.

9. What are the Teachers responsible for?

Teachers will be responsible for notifying the Coordinator of any incidents or damage whilst on camp, also assisting the coordinator and facilitators with group management at meal times and on activities. Also to work with the Total Adventures facilitators to support and enforce the camp rules.

10. Total Adventures Responsibilities:

Total Adventures Coordinators and facilitators are responsible for conducting the adventure activities in a safe environment, group management, informing the teachers of expectations, working with the teachers on all issues that may arise. Also if a teacher has any issue with safety of the students stop the activity and report the concerns to the coordinator.

11. What happens if there is Wet Weather:

Total Adventures has a number of activities in case of wet weather; if they are required the Coordinator will inform the Head Teacher of the changes either on camp or prior to arrival.
